Dear ACBA Members,

I hope this message finds you healthy and adjusting to the new normal of life during the these unsettling times. While some of you may have been more prepared for the virtual practice of law than others, it‘s safe to say that we are all still struggling to find our way.

The Albany County Bar Association, including the Lawyer Referral Service Line, is still open for business, with the team working remotely. However, all planned gatherings, events and CLE’s have been cancelled until further notice.

As we learn more about legal updates, notices will be sent out to our membership via email and posted in the news section of our website. Staying connected with each other is now more important than ever. If you have a question, please ask. If you have information, please share.

I look forward to seeing you all at an ACBA event once these troubles pass. Until then, stay in touch and be well.

Michael P. McDermott, Esq.
ACBA President

March 2020 Newsletter

Before launching into this month's column, I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank our out-going President, Dan Hurteau, for his selfless service to the Albany County Bar Association. Starting with his tenure as Treasurer, Dan helped steer this association toward greater fiscal stability and enthusiastically led our drive to increase membership. His wise and patient counsel has been a blessing to us all and he leaves the association far better off than he found it. >>Read Newsletter
