Albany Law School invites appli-cations for DIRECTOR OF THE SCHAFFER LAW LIBRARY. The Di-rector is responsible for all aspects of library operations, including tech-nical services, collection develop-ment, public services, strategic and short-term planning, budgeting, and leadership of library staff. The Direc-tor is also a member of the law fac-ulty, with rank to be determined com-mensurate with experience. Minimum qualifications include a JD degree from an ABA approved law school, and an MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited insti-tution plus at least five years of pro-gressively responsible experience working in a law library. The suc-cessful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to satisfying the growing research and informational needs of the faculty and students; a thorough knowledge of financial management and budgeting; the ability to successfully lead, manage and develop staff; an understanding of contemporary library operations and emerging trends in the library and technology fields; and the will-ingness and ability to teach. The Library has 4 full-time and 1 part-time professional librarians and 4 full-time and 1 part-time support staff members. The 42,000 square foot library houses a collection that includes 735,000 volumes and equivalents and 220,000 titles. Albany Law School is a small, inde-pendent private school in New York State’s capital. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN LAW-YERING - Albany Law School seeks highly qualified candidates for en-try-level positions teaching Intro-duction to Lawyering, a six-credit, first-year course. The positions will be long-term contract track or ten-ure-track depending on interest and experience of candidates. Success-ful candidates will teach two sections each of the course, which integrates legal research, writing, analysis, in-terviewing, client counseling, fact investigation, drafting, negotiating, and appellate advocacy.
